Our Favorite Things

GEAR

Dinosaur Suit

This is our third season with these suits, and they’re holding up incredibly well! We chose a bright, recognizable design for three key reasons:

1. Easier to track—essential when skiing with twins.

2. Highly visible to everyone on the mountain.

3. If they ever got lost, “Has anyone seen the little green dinosaur?” is way more effective than “Have you seen the kid in the blue jacket?”

Mom's Snowsuit

I bought the Women's Santa Fe Shredder Snow Suit this year and love it! It’s warm, fairly waterproof, and super colorful—perfect for staying visible on the mountain so our boys can spot me easily.

I used their sizing chart to decide, originally ordering a large since I’m 5’9", but it was too baggy. The medium is slightly short but works well. I’d say their chart is pretty accurate—I was between sizes and sized up.

Amazon Shop

We travel full-time, living on our boat or in our van for most of the year, so space is limited. Everything we’ve linked here has been tested and fits our minimal lifestyle.

1. Skiing Essentials– Gear and camera equipment

2. Kids’ Ski Books– Fun and educational reads.

3. Workout Gear– High-quality, budget-friendly clothing and travel-friendly exercise equipment.

4. Creator Essentials– Our go-to camera gear and mounts. If you're considering an Insta360 camera, buy direct for a discount (linked below).

5. Short-Term Rental Essentials– Affordable, durable products we use when renting out our home.

6. Van Essentials– Must-haves for outfitting our van life.

Insta 360

With so many action cameras on the market, choosing the right one can be tough. We’ve stuck with the Insta360
because it lets us focus on experiencing adventures with our boys instead of worrying about filming. Since it captures 360-degree footage, you never have to stress about where the camera is pointing. Plus, there are some awesome mounts that make the whole system completely hands-free!

Live It Up Greens

When fresh produce costs as much as a lift ticket, you start looking for alternatives. Since we spend most of the winter on the slopes and fresh fruits and veggies can be hard to come by, we noticed our micronutrient intake dropping. That’s when we started researching and decided to give Live It Up a try.

It has a refreshing minty flavor and while our boys are still warming up to it, they love it blended into a smoothie. Since it actually tastes good (a rare win for greens powders!), we’ve made it a part of our daily routine—keeping us fueled for long days in the mountains without breaking the bank on overpriced grocery store kale.

Stasher

Living as a family of four in a Sprinter van and a boat means space is tight—we don’t have room for stacks of Tupperware and hate wasting single-use plastic bags. Then we found Stasher bags.

We grabbed a starter kit and use them for packing lunches on the mountain, snacks for adventures, and saving leftovers. They’re durable, easy to clean, and take up way less space than traditional containers. Plus, they keep food fresh without the hassle of cracked lids or the guilt of tossing another plastic bag. Whether we’re skiing, sailing, or road-tripping, these bags make packing and storing food simple, sustainable, and stress-free!

GROUPS AND RESOURCES

SKI FAMILIES FACEBOOK GROUP

We started the Ski Families Facebook Group for families who love to ski and snowboard together and want to connect with others. Because let’s be real—ski days are always more fun with friends!

The goal is to build a community of families raising little rippers, where we can share tips, resources, and hopefully meet up for a few laps. Since we’re always on the move, it can be tough to find other families to ski with—so let’s connect, hit the slopes, and inspire the next generation of shredders!

HOW TO FUND FULL-TIME TRAVEL

We’ve been traveling full-time for three years, and the most common question we get is, “How do you afford this lifestyle?”

In the beginning, we didn’t have a clear answer—we had a vision for our dream life, quit our jobs, and figured it out as we went. It was a wild ride, but along the way, we learned invaluable lessons and met incredible people who helped us.

We are excited to shift our focus to helping other families create their own path to freedom.

ABOUT US

We’re living proof that life is too short to settle for “someday.” After our twin boys were born 24 weeks early and spent months in the NICU, we realized just how precious and fleeting time is. That experience pushed us to take a leap, trading the traditional path for a life of adventure and connection.

Now, we’re a full-time travel family living on our terms. In the winter, you’ll find us skiing 75+ days at resorts across North America. In the summer, we’re cruising the waters of the Pacific Northwest and Canada on our lovingly refit boat. And when we’re not on the slopes or the sea, we’re road-tripping in our Sprinter van, seeking out new places to explore.

We’re not trust fund travelers or lottery winners—we’re regular parents who figured out how to make this work. The secret? Building time and location-independent income streams that let us focus on what matters most: time together as a family.

We would love for you to join us! Whether you’re dreaming of financial independence, remote work, or simply more time with your kids, we would love to help you along this journey.
